Overview#
This policy explains what the DriveManager app for macOS and this website do with data. The app and the website work differently, so they are described separately. In short: the app has no analytics, advertising or tracking and no account or server of ours. It sends data only to the services you connect it to, when an action needs it. The website sets no cookies.
Who we are#
DriveManager is made by Krk Today d.o.o., Croatia (“we”), the controller of the personal data described here. This policy covers the DriveManager app for macOS and this website, drivemanager.krk.today. For anything about privacy, write to info@krk.today.
Data we do not collect#
The DriveManager app sends nothing to us. In particular, it has:
- no analytics, usage statistics or telemetry;
- no advertising, advertising identifiers or tracking across apps and websites;
- no account, registration or sign-in with us;
- no copies of your files, file names, folder contents, passwords or sign-ins sent to us.
Local storage and credentials#
Settings, favorites, workspaces, server connections, the Activity Log, the file cache (local copies of remote files you opened) and everything else DriveManager remembers are stored only on your Mac, inside the app’s sandbox container.
Passwords, sign-in tokens, access keys, SSH keys, certificate passwords and the keys of your Google, Dropbox and OneDrive registrations are kept in the macOS Keychain, not in files, and are not synced to iCloud. A network share password you choose to remember goes into your login keychain, next to Finder’s.
One exception: if you sign in to the live Google Docs viewer, Google’s web cookies for that viewer are stored in the app’s container on your Mac, separately for each account, and removed when you sign out of it. DriveManager runs in Apple’s App Sandbox: it can open only the folders on your Mac that you allow in the standard macOS Open dialog. The built-in help (“Where settings are stored and how to reset them”) explains how to remove this data.
Connected services#
When you work with a cloud account, a server or a Git remote, DriveManager transfers what the action needs — folder listings, file names and the contents of files you open, copy or upload — directly between your Mac and that service. Nothing passes through a server of ours. What the service receives and stores is governed by its own privacy policy. These are:
- cloud accounts: Google Drive (including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides), Dropbox, OneDrive and SharePoint;
- servers: SFTP, FTP and FTPS, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible storage, OpenStack Swift, and network shares (SMB, NFS, AFP);
- Git remotes, when you fetch, pull, push or clone;
- a Transmission server you registered, when you send it a torrent file.
You sign in to Google and Dropbox in your default web browser, and to Microsoft in the macOS sign-in sheet; DriveManager never sees your Google, Dropbox or Microsoft password there. The live Google Docs viewer is the one exception: it shows Google’s own sign-in page inside DriveManager’s window. The app adds no scripts to that page and does not read or store what you type. The Google OAuth client, Dropbox app key and Microsoft app registration are your own, so the access belongs to you, and you can end it at any time in your account settings on the provider’s website.
While a folder of an account or server is open in a visible tab, the app makes short, periodic requests to that service to notice changes (this can be switched off per connection). Viewing files stored on your Mac needs no network: the Markdown, HTML and e-book viewers block remote content, and web page scripts stay off until you turn them on.
Optional AI panel#
The AI panel is off until you set it up yourself: it needs an AI coding agent — Anthropic’s Claude Code or OpenAI’s Codex — that you install on your Mac and sign in to with your own account, plus a launcher script you install. When you use it, DriveManager passes your messages to that agent on your Mac and shows its answers. The agent then sends your messages, and the contents of files it reads in the working folder to answer you, to its provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) under your account and that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
DriveManager itself sends nothing to Anthropic, OpenAI or us. It does not read your AI account’s password, tokens or API keys: the launcher starts the agent with a clean environment, so no keys from your shell settings are passed on. DriveManager does not save the conversations; the agent keeps its own session history on your Mac.
App Store purchases and diagnostics#
DriveManager is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the purchase and payment under Apple’s own privacy policy; we don’t receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple gives us aggregated sales and download figures.
If you chose in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may also give us crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. We use them only to find and fix problems.
Website privacy#
- No cookies, analytics or advertising, and no third-party scripts or fonts.
- Your language choice is kept in your browser’s session storage and is deleted when you close the tab.
- The small flag images of the language switcher are loaded from flagcdn.com, which receives your IP address and the request like any web server.
- Server logs: like any web server, ours may keep technical access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to keep the site secure and running. They are processed by our web hosting provider on our behalf, kept only as long as needed for that purpose, and never used to identify or track you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Contact emails#
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you and handle your request. They are processed by our email provider on our behalf, kept only as long as needed for that and any follow-up, and never sold or shared for marketing. Legal basis: answering you and taking steps you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Children#
DriveManager collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights under the GDPR#
You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted or restricted, object to its use, or receive a copy. As the app collects none, this normally concerns only website logs and emails you sent us. Write to info@krk.today; we answer within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Croatian data protection authority, AZOP (azop.hr), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.
Policy changes#
If this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. If a version of the app ever handles data differently, this page will say so before that version is released.
