The essentials

When can I get it?

DriveManager is coming to the Mac App Store soon. There is no release date yet; this site will link to the store as soon as it is there.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store, with every feature included and no in-app purchases: €12.99 in Croatia and most euro-area storefronts. The Mac App Store shows your local price; prices by country.

Which Macs does it run on?

A Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 Tahoe or later.

Why does it ask me to choose folders?

DriveManager runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, so it only sees folders you grant it once with the standard Open dialog. Grants are remembered across launches.

What do Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive need?

Your own free registration for each service, entered once in Settings → Accounts: a Google OAuth client (a Desktop app client made in the Google Cloud Console in about five minutes), a Dropbox app key, or a Microsoft Entra app ID (and optionally a tenant) — a developer app registration of your own. Settings → Accounts has a step-by-step guide for each; after that you sign in as usual. With your own registration the access belongs to you and isn’t shared with anyone else.

Does it replace Finder?

It works next to Finder. Files drag and drop between them, Show in Finder is one click away, and Quick Look (⌘Y) works as usual. DriveManager and Finder compared

Is my data sent anywhere?

Only to the services you connect yourself. DriveManager has no analytics, no tracking and no account with us. Privacy Policy

Which languages does it speak?

English and Hungarian. The language follows your Mac and can be changed in Settings.

Compatibility and setup

Can I keep my Total Commander or Midnight Commander keys?

Yes. Settings → Keyboard → Presets has Total Commander, Midnight Commander, Finder and ForkLift key sets, and every command’s keys can be changed. Coming from Total Commander

How do I switch the app’s language?

Choose Settings → General → Language and click Restart Now. By default DriveManager follows your Mac’s preferred languages; it is available in English and Hungarian.

Does it work with iCloud Drive and network shares?

Yes. iCloud Drive is in the panels’ source list: allow it once, and files that are only in iCloud are downloaded when you open or copy them. SMB, AFP and NFS shares open through Go → Connect to Server… (⌘K).

How do I uninstall it?

Quit it and drag it from Applications to the Trash. To remove everything, also remove your accounts in Settings → Accounts (their sign-ins leave the Keychain) and its folders in ~/Library/Containers and ~/Library/Application Scripts. The app’s Help has the full steps.

Privacy and security

Does DriveManager need Full Disk Access?

No. It runs in Apple’s App Sandbox and opens the folders you grant it in the standard Open window; allowing your home folder once covers almost everything. Full Disk Access is optional.

Where are my passwords and sign-ins stored?

In the macOS Keychain on your Mac: cloud sign-ins, server passwords, keys and the secrets of your own cloud registrations. Nothing is stored on a server of ours; there is none.

What does the optional AI panel send, and to whom?

DriveManager itself sends nothing. The AI panel works with your own Claude Code, which you install and sign in to with your own Claude account; Claude Code sends your messages and the files it reads to Anthropic under that account. The AI panel in the Privacy Policy

Cloud and servers

Why do I need my own Google OAuth client, Dropbox app key or OneDrive registration?

DriveManager comes with no registration of its own. With yours, the access to your account belongs to you, isn’t shared with anyone else, and you can end it at any time. Settings → Accounts has a step-by-step guide for each — a developer app registration takes a few minutes and is free.

Which servers can it connect to?

SFTP, FTP and FTPS, WebDAV, S3-compatible storage (Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, Wasabi, MinIO and others) and OpenStack Swift. SMB, AFP and NFS shares open through Connect to Server. Passwords and keys stay in your Keychain.

Are files copied directly from one cloud service to another?

No. Between two different services the files travel through your Mac: DriveManager downloads and uploads them. It doesn’t promise server-to-server copies.

When I edit a Google Drive file with F4, where is it?

DriveManager downloads a private copy, opens it in your editor and uploads it again every time you save. The file on Google Drive keeps its sharing and links.

Everyday use

How do I delete files without the Trash?

⇧F8 deletes permanently. To make F8 itself delete permanently, change the F8 key setting in Settings → General.

Why don’t I see Finder tags on Google Drive files?

Finder tags exist only on your Mac’s disks; cloud services and servers don’t store them.

Can I undo a rename?

A Multi-Rename can be undone. Other operations — copies, moves, deletes, syncs — have no undo, which is why deletes go to the Trash by default and a sync shows what it will do first. Batch rename

Where is the help?

In the app: Help → DriveManager Help (⌘?), the command palette (⇧⌘P) for every command, and Keyboard Shortcuts (⇧F1). For anything else, write to info@krk.today.

Coming soon to the Mac App Store.

€12.99 One-time purchase. No subscription. Every feature included.
